Access to Services

What to Expect from Counseling

Services at the Student Services Counseling Center (SSCC) begins with an assessment interview in which a behavioral health counselor will meet with the student and their parents and/or guardian to determine the type of services needed. The behavioral health counselor will then identify areas of need and create specific goals to assist the student in developing skills necessary to improve mental health and educational outcomes. Services are provided primarily at the school site during the school day. Telehealth services via phone or Zoom are also available as needed.

Family Counseling Services

Like adults, children face life issues that can impact their mental health and functioning. SSCC offers family counseling so parents and/or caregivers can obtain knowledge and practical skills on how to navigate these challenging years with their student. Family counseling services are offered to enrolled SBCSS students.
