Student Services Counseling Center

The Student Services Counseling Center (SSCC) offers school-based counseling services to San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools enrolled students and their families. SSCC offers support to those who are experiencing difficulties and distress with mental health, relationships, school behavior problems, legal, substance use, and/or family difficulties. Behavioral health counselors with the SSCC utilize evidence based practices and work in collaboration with staff, parents, probation, and district personnel to support students in reaching their personal and academic goals. Services are provided at no cost to students or their families. Bilingual services are also available.

Our Story

The SSCC grew out of a need to better support youth throughout the County who are often under-served and under-resourced. The program began 19 years ago and since then has grown to include more than a dozen behavioral health counselors at over 13 different school sites. In that time, the SSCC has provided high quality services to over 10,000 of students throughout the County. The SSCC behavioral health counselors have a passion to support our students and are dedicated to the success of each student, working alongside school staff to assist students in developing a more positive connection with their educators. By working directly on campus, behavioral health counselors are available throughout the day for students who are struggling with mental health or may be a experiencing crisis. The SSCC continues to remove barriers to educational growth and is determined to provide support to a population often under-served.
