As we begin a new school year, we are reminded of just how important a strong start can be. Whether we are preparing our youngest learners for the start of their school journey, engaging families as partners in education, or ensuring all students, no matter their circumstances, have the tools they need to succeed, we're building a foundation that ensures every student can step confidently into their first day of school

This month, we begin a special series reflecting on that shared journey and the lessons that will guide us into our next chapter. Over the coming months, we will highlight the milestones we've reached together and the people who made them possible.

As the 2025–26 school year comes to a close, we reflect on the remarkable achievements, milestones and moments that made this year unforgettable for students across San Bernardino County.

With the end of the school year approaching, SBCSS is reminded of the importance of celebrating progress, partnership and impact across our schools and programs.

At SBCSS, we believe every student is unique and deserves meaningful opportunities to showcase their talents, passions and potential.

This month, we celebrated the many achievements of students across San Bernardino County. From science and engineering projects to writing competitions and academic challenges, students are demonstrating dedication, creativity and perseverance in all they do.

At SBCSS, we are proud to highlight the incredible work happening across our schools, as programs continue to earn recognition through the prestigious California School Boards Association Golden Bell Awards.

As we begin 2026, we do so with hope and excitement for what's ahead. The start of the year has already highlighted the impact of opportunity, collaboration and student achievement across San Bernardino County.

At SBCSS, we believe that when we invest in our students and communities through celebration, recognition and support, we create a foundation for success that extends far beyond the classroom.

Whether we’re exploring cultures through language, linking generations through history or uniting communities through service, these bridges help guide our students to become the next generation of engaged citizens.

Student success doesn't happen in isolation—it takes the collaborative partnership of students, educators, families, and communities working together.

As we close another remarkable school year, I am filled with gratitude for the collective efforts that have shaped unforgettable experiences for our students.

What an inspiring year it has been! Our nearly 400,000 students have gone above and beyond, showcasing their commitment to learning, creativity in the arts, and passion in athletics and activities.

This April, we had the honor of witnessing the remarkable talents and accomplishments of our students across San Bernardino County.

From inspiring art showcases and outstanding musical performances to engaging literacy events and rigorous academic competitions, we are seeing more students than ever getting involved and showcasing their talents.

At SBCSS, we are committed to fostering an environment where each and every student is empowered to explore their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom.

We kicked off the new year with inspiring events that challenged our most creative students, push their limits, and start 2025 off with confidence.

As we wrap up 2024, we dedicate this past month to celebrating and giving back to the people who make our work meaningful—our students, staff and community members.

November has been an inspiring month for empowering and encouraging our students and communities to embrace the exceptional opportunities that education offers.
