The Standardized Emergency Management System is the cornerstone of California’s emergency response system and the fundamental structure for the response phase of emergency management. The system unifies all elements of California’s emergency management community into a single standardized and integrated system, the Incident Command System.
Federal Emergency Management Agency - Mandated National Incident Management System
National Incident Management System is a set of principles that provides a systematic, proactive approach guiding government agencies at all levels, nongovernmental organizations and the private sector to work seamlessly to prevent, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of incidents, regardless of cause, size, location, or complexity, in order to reduce the loss of life or property and harm to the environment.

This website is a one-stop-shop of resources for kindergarten through grade 12 administrators, educators, parents, and law enforcement to use to prepare for and address various threats related to safety, security and support in schools.
San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services
The Office of Emergency Services (OES) is a division of the San Bernardino County Fire Department. OES is responsible for countywide emergency planning, mitigation and response and recovery activities. OES works with all county departments, 24 cities and many nongovernment organizations, to provide timely and accurate situation and resource status reports to appropriate policymakers, elected officials and emergency first responders.
San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department works in a collaborative effort assisting school districts with many services that include training, updates of community safety events, See Something, Say Something, We-Tip, Red-Ribbon Campaigns and much more. During an emergency event, San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Communications and San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Public Affairs collaborate to manage communication in event of a crisis by disseminating safety awareness information through the media, websites and social networks.

San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Emergency Operations Center (EOC) provides a centralized focus of authority and information and allows for face-to-face ordination amongst personnel in the event of an emergency. The EOC coordinates emergency operations between agencies and school districts.
