5142 - Student Play and Recreational Space

San Bernardino County Superintendant of Schools is committed to providing a safe and educationally conducive learning environment for all of its students. Student learning and interaction can occur both inside and outside of the school building. Playground and recreational equipment is critical to the development of the student and must be provided in a manner to ensure the safety of children and adults.

The purchase and installation of student play and recreational equipment must be appropriate to the age and ability of the student population and in relation to the space available and meet approved safety standards.

All staff will be responsible for ensuring that play and recreational equipment and areas are kept clean and in good repair. SBCSS will provide safety training procedures for the equipment, inspection procedures for maintaining the equipment and the playground environment.
