4157, 4257, 4357 - Employee Safety

The County Superintendent of Schools believes that safety is every employee’s responsibility. The County Superintendent of Schools expects all employees to use safe work practices and to report and correct any unsafe conditions that may occur. Supervisors shall constantly promote safety and correct any unsafe work practice through education, training and enforcement.

No employees shall be required to work under unsafe or hazardous conditions or to perform tasks that endanger their health, safety, or well-being. Working conditions and equipment shall be maintained in compliance with standards prescribed by federal, state and local laws and regulations.

The County Superintendent of Schools or designee shall establish a written Injury and Illness Prevention Program in accordance with law. The program shall include training in safe and healthful work practices for all employees.
