4120, 4220, 4320 - Short Term/Temporary Employees
The County Superintendent of Schools Office may hire short-term/temporary employees to perform service for the office upon completion of which the service required or similar services will not be extended or needed on a continuing basis. Short-term or temporary classified employees must be employed for less than 75% of the school year. “Seventy-five percent of the school year” means 195 working days, including holidays, sick leave, vacation and other leaves of absences, irrespective of number of hours worked per day.
The Superintendent of Schools may hire short-term/temporary employees in positions requiring certification qualifications for less than a full school year, so long as the number of days does not exceed 75% of the number of days that the schools and programs of the County Superintendent of Schools are operated.
Rates of compensation for services rendered shall be set by the County Superintendent of Schools for any short-term/temporary employees. Affirmative action goals and objectives apply to these positions.
