4112.3 - Tuition Reimbursement, Certification in Speech/Language Pathology

San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools provides a full range of specialized professional services to special education students. Those services include designated instruction and services for speech and language. The Superintendent finds there is a shortage of Certified Speech and Language Pathologists to provide those services. In order to attract, promote and retain employees with a Certification in Speech and Language Pathology, the Superintendent offers tuition reimbursement to employees and prospective employees participating in an accredited training program leading to a Certification in Speech and Language Pathology. Individuals participating in the tuition reimbursement program are required to enter into an agreement with the Superintendent to work for the Superintendent for five (5) years as a Certified Speech and Language Pathologist following receipt of their Certification in Speech and Language Pathology.
