4111, 4211 - Teacher Recruitment Award Program

It is the intent of the County Superintendent of Schools to acquire and retain the most qualified and talented certificated teachers to instruct children in the County Superintendent of Schools classes.

It is the policy of the County Superintendent of Schools to seek the assistance of currently employed teachers and non-management/confidential staff under the exclusive representative bargaining agreement(s) in acquiring the highest qualified new special education teachers of every racial and ethnic group. Toward this goal, employees will be encouraged to actively recruit new qualified special education teachers on behalf of the County Superintendent of Schools.

Education Code 44015 (b) allows the County Superintendent of Schools to make awards up to $200 to employees who “perform special acts or special services in the public interest.” Teachers or other employees represented by exclusive bargaining agreement(s) who recruit fully qualified special education teacher candidates, who become employed by the County Superintendent of Schools, will be awarded $200 for each qualified special education teacher they recruit, in accordance with Procedure 4111, 4211.
