2136 - Honorarium
Definition: Honoraria are awards made to an individual or group in recognition of their voluntary participation in a San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools-sponsored activity or event or in service of its mission, where no payment is legally required and no contractual obligation for performance exists.
Honoraria may be awarded to any individual or group in the form of cash, cash-equivalents, or tangible, non-cash items whose combined value shall not exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00), unless a larger amount is expressly approved by the County Superintendent of Schools.
All honoraria must be approved, in writing, by the County Superintendent of Schools. For purposes of this policy, designees of the County Superintendent of Schools may not approve honoraria.
