2128 - School Claims
School Claims in the County Superintendent of Schools Office performs audit and approval functions required of both the County Auditor/Controller and County Superintendent of Schools, and is jointly responsible to those elected officials.
School Claims is governed by the Education, Public Contract, Government, Civil, and Probate Codes, and by opinions prepared by the Office of County Counsel.
Primary functions include staff’s audit for legality, accuracy and proper authorization of payment orders submitted by public education (K-14) agencies within the county.
School Claims provides the electronic audit of the commercial warrant program, and coordinating the integration of the San Bernardino County Schools consortium system with the County of San Bernardino Financial Accounting System (FAS).
