2000 - Concepts of Administrative Organization
The administrative organization of the County Superintendent of Schools Office is designed to help achieve the goals of the Office.
The County Superintendent of Schools has established an organization chart that identifies the relationships of line and staff positions within the Office.
The general administrative organization of the County Superintendent of Schools Office is known as an executive type of school administration with all activities under the direction of the County Superintendent of Schools.
Organization or function charts for the County Superintendent of Schools Office shall clearly designate the relationships of all employees within the organization. The organization or function charts shall be kept up-to-date and changes shall be approved by the County Superintendent of Schools.
Lines of responsibility are structured after Administration works out the duties of the service unit most appropriate for each mission. Responsibility shall flow simply and clearly from the County Superintendent of Schools through the administration to the staff.
Each member of the staff shall be instructed as to whom he or she is responsible and for what functions. Whenever possible, each staff member shall be responsible to only one immediate supervisor for any one function. Each staff member shall have one supervisor to whom an appeal may be made in case of disagreement. Each staff member shall further be instructed as to whom that member may go for assistance in working out the member’s official functions.
Each staff member shall be kept advised of the policies, procedures and progress of this Office.
