0430 - Comprehensive Local Plans for Special Education

In order to serve children with exceptional needs, the County Superintendent participates as a member of three San Bernardino County Special Education Local Planning Areas (SELPAs), and serves as the fiscal agent for these SELPAs. These are known as the Desert Mountain SELPA, the East Valley SELPA and the West End SELPA.

The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS) extends its full cooperation to each SELPA. The regulations and procedures of the SELPAs shall be applied as regulations and procedures of the SBCSS, but if certain portions of the plans should differ from the Policies and Procedures of SBCSS, the SBCSS Policies and Procedures shall apply to employees of SBCSS.

A copy of the three local plans for special education, together with appropriate regulations and procedures, shall be available for inspection in the Office of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.
