Family and Community Engagement
Family and Community Engagement provides support to 33 school districts and their schools within San Bernardino County, parents, and community organizations to work collectively to improve student achievement and success. The goal is to be responsive to the unique needs of diverse districts and the communities they serve.
This work is done through the foundations of Dr. Karen Mapp’s Dual Capacity Framework by:
- Organizing workshops, events and professional learning opportunities for district staff and parents.
- Providing resources to support families who guide the learning of children and as learners who want to acquire skills to assist children better.
- Bringing together education stakeholders to engage, share and learn highly effective practices to increase parent engagement and student success.
- Developing genuine connections and relationships with education partners.
