Leadership and Outreach
Today's educational leaders must constantly adapt to the complexity of an exponentially changing world and its impact on students, staff and community. Preparing our students, educators and community partners for that complexity is vital to the future of education.
In many ways, the "new normal" requires a new form of leadership. Today's educational leaders must become proficient in cultivating family and community partnerships, designing inclusive and equitable environments, leveraging networks, creating space for outreach and social influence, and promoting increased access and opportunities for students.
In the Summer of 2021, a new department in the Education Support Services branch was formed to focus on Leadership and Outreach as a call to action out of the COVID-19 pandemic and the role of San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools to continue providing responsive and relevant support and service to districts, families and communities in San Bernardino County. The goals of the department are to:
- Determine creative and innovative strategies to design and continuously improve systems to adapt and change for student success.
- Engage students, staff, families, and community partners at all levels of the organization in learning and capacity building processes to meet the unique needs of all students.
- Respond to current needs and envision "What's Next" for future generations.
Leadership and Outreach is committed to creative leadership that allows individuals and the organization to foster innovation, inspire engagement, cultivate lifelong learning, and promote greater agility and adaptability at all levels of our educational organizations toward ongoing and continuous improvement.
