Early Education Workforce Development Tuition Reimbursement
Quality Counts California Workforce Development Grant
San Bernardino County (SBC) operates an effective Quality Counts California (QCC) Workforce Pathways Stipend Program through San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS), Early Education and Development Local Planning Council. San Bernardino County QCC Workforce Pathways Stipends Program is designed to align with the QCC professional development system and to focus on local workforce needs across all care setting types. The intent of this program is to assist counties in improving the retention of qualified child care employees who work directly with children. In addition, this program seeks to expand the number of qualified Eligibility in the Local Context (ELC) professionals and increase the educational credentials of existing ELC professionals.
Early Education Teacher Development Grant
The Early Education Teacher Development (EETD) Grant is designed to support workforce development for State Preschool, Early Head Start, Head Start, and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) programs. This grant provides tuition reimbursement support for preschool permit and Multiple Subject Credential holders currently employed at SBCSS or San Bernardino County school districts, charter schools, or community-based state preschool programs. The funding is designed to support the specific career goals described below.
Earn tuition reimbursement support for completing coursework towards:
- Multiple Subject Credential pathway.
- Complete a Multiple Subject or preschool-3rd grade Teaching Credential.
- For State Preschool, Head Start teachers, or paraprofessionals in a school district or charter school interested in obtaining a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential to teach TK at a school district or charter school.
- Tuition Reimbursement Support: a minimum of $300 per unit, until funds are expended.
Early Education/Child Development Pathway:
- Complete up to 24 units of the required Early Childhood Education/Child Development units to teach TK. Must have a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science to qualify for this pathway.
- For teachers and paraprofessionals in a school district or charter school needing early childhood development units to teach TK.
- Tuition Reimbursement Support: a minimum of $100 per unit, until funds are expended.
