Gann Limit

Article XIII-B of the Constitution of the State of California requires the establishment of an appropriation limit on "proceeds of taxes" revenues for public agencies, including school districts. Each year the state requires San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools to re-compute the prior year's actual estimated limit using actual income and expense information. The Gann Limit is approved by the San Bernardino County Board of Education at a regularly scheduled meeting prior to October 15 after the close of each fiscal year.
