California Schools Joint Powers Authority
California Joint Powers Authority (CSJPA) is staffed by experienced San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools employees to serve K-12 schools, Regional Occupational Programs (ROPs) and community colleges under the direction of two boards of directors. The California Schools Risk Management (CSRM) and the California Schools Employee Benefits Association (CSEBA) are both public entity (CSJPAs) formed pursuant to California Government Code and provide services to districts in Riverside, San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles counties in addition to San Bernardino. San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools serves as the fiscal agent for both JPAs.
CSRM provides districts with options for self-insurance programs in the area of property, liability, construction, and workers’ compensation. CSRM provides extensive ancillary services specific to school and community college districts in the area of employment practices, safety/loss prevention, workshops/online training, and risk mitigation to reduce district exposure. Its sister JPA, CSEBA, is jointly managed by labor and management to provide employee benefit insurance coverage, wellness coaching, online enrollment, and related health and welfare programs for its members.
Those districts needing employee benefit packages are encouraged to participate in CSEBA. Medical, dental, vision, life, and supplemental benefit packages and services designed to enhance the districts benefits program.
Membership is open to California schools, community colleges and ROP programs.
