Norton Science and Language Academy (NSLA) is a TK-12 California Public Charter School, authorized by the San Bernardino County Office of Education. It was established in August 2008 as the Norton Space and Aeronautics Academy and opened with grades K-2. NSLA is an award-winning dual immersion program school which supports its charter educational goals including teaching science every day starting in Kindergarten. NSLA's goal is for all students to be able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish in all academic areas after continued attendance in the program for five years. The mission of NSLA is to ensure learning for a diverse and often underserved population of students who will be college and career ready as a result of their safe and rigorous bilingual, biliterate, and multicultural education.
