SBCSS Strategic Plan

Initiative I.1 - Build leadership capacity countywide for emerging and current certificated/classified staff to address and support recruitment and retention of a diverse and equity-centered workforce that will transform educational systems.

Initiative I.2 - Create an environment for leadership that supports innovative practices, including emerging technologies that keep students engaged in learning

Initiative I.3 - Marshal the best resources throughout the county in order to perfect forums for learning, coaching and promoting the best and most innovative education practices.

Initiative II.1 - Build leadership capacity to ensure educational equity for ALL students. ​

Initiative II.2 - Provide data-informed support to district partners so that ALL students graduate prepared for their post-secondary options. ​

Initiative II.3 - Maintain a consistent and coherent focus on improving tiered instruction and learning acceleration with an emphasis on supporting targeted student groups. ​

Initiative II.4 - Develop, align and implement inclusive whole child, whole school, whole community programs that meet the academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs of ALL learners from cradle to career. ​

Initiative II.5 - Support local education agencies in implementing and using Continuous Improvement model to ensure equitable outcomes for all students. ​

Initiative III.1 - Proactively explore existing technologies to transform delivery and eliminate fragmentation, gaps in services, inefficiencies and redundancy to ensure operational efficiency. 

Initiative III.2 - Proactively explore established and cutting-edge innovative technologies, including emerging advancements, to enhance instructional practices, organizational administration, and the safety and security of both school staff and facilities. 

Initiative III.3 - Ensure transformative technology implementation in instruction and operations by providing ongoing, research-based and results oriented professional development. 

Initiative IV.1 - Increase strategic communications to keep all educational partners apprised of SBCSS initiatives, foster positive change and support organizational goals by delivering accurate, relevant and timely information through a variety of channels. ​

Initiative IV.2 - Ensure fidelity of the SBCSS brand and utilize marketing to clarify the role and fortify the overall perception of SBCSS.​

Initiative IV.3 - Develop forums of two-way communication with internal and external stakeholders to stimulate awareness, encourage involvement and promote SBCSS.​

Initiative V.1 - Empower families and education partners to actively participate in their student’s education in a positive ​and inclusive manner.​

Initiative V.2 - Create, strengthen and sustain strategic business/labor partnerships countywide.​

Initiative V.3 - Provide families, community and educators with assistance and easy access to information, educational programs, resources and opportunities with equitable outcomes.​

Initiative V.4 - Align family-related programs, services and resources to eliminate duplication of effort for cost efficiency and effectiveness.​

Initiative VI.1 - Create an environment that promotes, supports and nurtures the emotional, physical, mental and nutritional needs of SBCSS students.

Initiative VI.3 - Promote, support and monitor the health and wellness of the organization through a SBCSS Wellness Committee comprised of representatives from throughout the organization.

Initiative VI.4 - Promote, support and nurture the emotional, physical, mental, and nutritional needs of external students.
